Celebrated annually, National Hot Tea Day honors the comforting and healthful tradition of drinking tea. It’s a day to recognize tea’s rich history, cultural significance, and its many benefits....especially for those of us living in colder climates! Perk up your winter blues by trying the following to celebrate this warm beverage:

Try new teas:explore a variety of teas, such as green, black, white, oolong, or herbal infusions at home or your local coffee/tea shop.
Host a Tea Tasting Party: invite friends to sample different teas and learn about their origins and flavours. Encourage them to bring their favourite blends to share.
Take a mindful moment to savour your favourite tea and reflect on its calming qualities.
Enjoy tea with traditional pairings like scones, finger sandwiches, or biscuits. Have a tea party with the kids!
Dive into the traditions of tea ceremonies from countries like China, Japan, India or the UK.

Don't forget the health benefits of tea: Tea contains polyphenols that fight free radicals and reduce inflammation. Herbal teas like chamomile or echinacea can support the immune system. The combination of caffeine and L-theanine in tea enhances alertness and concentration.

Teas like chamomile or lavender help reduce stress and improve sleep. Regular tea consumption has been linked to reduced risk of heart disease. Ginger or peppermint tea can soothe an upset stomach and improve digestion.

Fun Fact: Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water!
